Scottish Highland CowScot EID - Scottish Cattle Get independance

Monday 4th October 2021

Scottish cattle get their independance from England with the transition of cattle registrations for Births, Movements and Deaths moving from BCMS/CTS to Scot EID.

The BCMS system will be down from Friday 1 October 2021 until Monday 4th October to fascilitate the movement of cattle information to the Scot EID system.

From Monday 4th October Scottish Farms will HAVE to use the new Scot EID system.

FarmIT3000 has had the required changes made to interface with the Scot EID system (Scot Moves +) however we would suggest that maybe monday morning is not the best time to try it out. We will be monitoring the transfer and in contact with our Scottish customers throughout the week.

This is the biggest change to cattle registrations in the last 25 years and we would expect to see some disruption. This will probably start monday morning. The transfer of the hugh amount of data from one system to another is a big undertaking. To have the new system running monday morning is going to be a challange for the Scot EID engineers. We would suggest that you all  give them time to check and test things. If you experience any issues it is very unlikely you will be the only one.

If all goes well we would suggest you try to connect to Scot EID and do a get cattle on holding, just to check the connection before attempting to register new births. Movements via Markets and Salughter houses in Scotland should operate as normal and they will continue to notify your 'Off' movements.

Finaly we would like to wish all Scottish cattle a good 4th of October!.
