Recording treatment of sheep in a flock.
If your sheep are not individually tagged, you may only
record the medical treatment against the flock and not the actual individual you
treated, as although you may well mark the animals to identify it at the time it probably will not have the mark when sold
or the next time you treat it.
You may record the treatment against the flock record and simply specify the
number of animals treated.
Click on the Medical Treatment tab of the Flock Record and double click
on '<New>' at the bottom of the list to enter a new treatment:
The flock name will be entered automatically for you.
The ear tag numbers and quantity of animals will
automatically be entered for you.
Enter details of the problem and select the product from the product list, If
the treatment was supplied by the Vet or its purchase has not yet been recorded
click the '<new>' entry to enter the details of the product.
The batch number, unit and product information will update
automatically .
Enter the total quantity used, unit, the name of the individual who treated
the animals, and select the treatment end date. The withdrawl period will
automatically be calculated for you based on the specified meat withdrawl
date for the product.
Finally enter any notes and click 'OK' to create the
record.
N.B. Only medicines and chemicals that are approved
for the animals selected will be shown in the drop down list. If there is a
product that you want to use that you know you have entered but is not
in the list then: open the list of agricultural products on your farm via
the 'Farm' menu.
This will bring up a list of all products you have recorded as being on your
farm.
Double click on the product in question to view its details and check that
the appropriate groups of animals are checked in the 'Approved Animal Usage'
section.
