Sheep Flock Management

The Sheep Holding Register (Sheep Movement Register) provides the official recording of your flock within England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. If you are using FarmIT outside of these countries you may find that the register is still appropriate.

The sheep flock is a management aid and provides quick access to individuals and a flock summary by age. Originally the flock was based on the old sheep flock book and provided the basisi for the official flock register, However since 2014 this has been replaced by the sheep holding register which is based on a specific holding number rather than a flock name.

The sheep flock has however been retained for its use as a management tool, as it allows the recording of treatments etc without the need for individual identifiction.
