Moving, Selling and Dead Stock
When you sell a stock animal or if it is moved off your holding for any reason you
need to notify the BCMS within 3 days and keep a record of it yourself.
With FarmIT 3000 you may record the movement, the purchase or the sale of stock,
both individually
or for a group of animals.
All animal movements, with the exception of a death or loss (see below) should be recorded via the movements menu:
An animal movement record will be be automatically generated when you save the bulk movement record and
adds a pending
movement record ready for upload to the CTS database via CTS Online Link for
beef cattle. It also updates the animal's Movement History and creates an entry
in the Herd Register.
For further instructions on creating movements please follow this link - Animal Movements
Recording the Death of an Individual Animal
The recording of a death is carried out from within the animal's individual
record. First, find the animal you have sold or moved. (See 'Finding Stock')
Now select the animal details 'Movement History' tab from the resulting window.
Select the Animal Holding Status drop down box, and pick 'Died On Holding'.
You will then be prompted for a date of death - you can select the calendar by
clicking the drop down arrow.
You will then be promted to enter the reasons of death and record the means of
disposal of the carcase.
Once all details are entered, press 'OK'. You will be taken back to the Movement
History for the animal. The death will be registered in the history and 'Animal
Holding Status' will have been updated.
