Tru-Test XR3000

The TRU-TEST XR3000 originally came out in 2002(ish) and was a remarkable weigh head for its time with many still in service today. It was of course EID compatable and could record data against the animals EID. Although it did not include the EID reader, the eid was received via the serial com port as used on the personal computers of the time, Later a bluetooth option was included well before any phones had bluetooth.

From the very early days of FarmIT 3000 we talked directly to the XR3000, downloading weight records (files) and uploading animal information (life data). It is fair to say it has been the main tool for many an AHDB project and we have recorded 100,000's weights using XR3000's.

In 2015 - 2016 Tru-Test replaced the 3000 range with the 5000 range. The XR5000 building on the performance of the XR3000 with better more robust connecters, more life data fields and better displays. 

Although you may think the XR3000 has had its day, often a new set of batteries ( 6 x AA rechargeables for £30), maybe new leads and a wipe over can turn the XR3000 into a very useful bit of kit. Often available at farm sales (where no one know's what it is) they can be picked up quite cheaply and with eprice of a NEW XR5000 being almost £2000 a XR3000 is a good alternative.
