Starting to SIGNET record

SIGNET recording is not any more complicated than your own recording. The benifit is the fact that your animals are given Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) relative to their perfomance within the breed. This may be very worthwhile if you want to sell breeding stock.

If you are therefore already recording with FarmIT starting to record signet recording involves sending the details of your animals to signet, a special report is available to do this. The report is available under the reports/signet menu. 'SIGNET CATTLE SETUP REPORT' and 'SIGNET SHEEP SETUP REPORT'.

It important to try and identify any animals with SIGNET references, for example any breeding RAMs you have purchased from breeders who do signet record. This will provide EBV values for their progeny.
