Farm IT Help - Sheep Breeding Analysis.

Sheep Breeding Analysis.

Recording lambing records is regarded by many as essential for the pedigree breeder but unnecessary and a waste of time for farmers producing lambs for slaughter. There are however many good reasons to record and analyse breeding records in meat producing flocks and with the requirement to individually tag sheep rapidly approaching you may find that keeping breeding records could improve your profitability as well as your flock.

So once you have recorded all the details of rams serving ewes, scanning records for ewes and details of the births what do you get in return?

Detailed Reports For Lambing

FarmIT 3000 provides detailed reports for the lambing operations including reports for:

Ewes served by rams.
Ewes scanned or confirmed in lamb.
Lambing births
Fostering
Abortions
Prolapses

The above reports provide lists of animals with details as recorded. Also available however are the following summary reports.

Lambing Details By The Year
Ewe Breeding Performance
Ram Breeding Performance

These reports provide you with details of how your flock does year by year, which is your best ewe or ram etc. and may be used for breeding selection.

Further reports provide scrapie information, prodegy for selected rams and ewes and breeding index information.

If your are a member of the Signet breeding program you may also import their data into FarmIT 3000.
